South Australia

Rocla Quarry Products, South Australia, has three major quarries strategically located around Adelaide and is ideally located to supply all quarried sand, shale and clay related products to the building and construction industries.

Rocla's quarries are supplemented by  its own fleet of trucks, enabling us to provide a full delivery service to our large customer base.

Rocla Quarry Products S.A. has also been successful in securing a long term contract to supply glass grade silica sand to the new Amcor wine bottle plant at Gawler. Supply in excess of 50,000 tonnes per annum commenced in January 2003 at our Golden Grove Quarry.

• Maslin Beach

  Maslin Beach is located 46 kms south of Adelaide and supplies sand and gravel products to Adelaide's construction and building industries. Sand has been extracted from this area for over fifty years with reserves that will see this quarry operation well into the 21st century. This quarry produces washed products such as concrete sand, low shrinkage concrete sand, 7mm & 20mm river gravel, as well as a range of garden sands. The Maslin Beach quarry is renowned for its high quality dry screened brick laying and plaster sands.

• Golden Grove

  Rocla's sand, gravel and clay extraction operation at Golden Grove is located approximately 20 km northeast of Adelaide and is the largest sand washing quarry in the state. Extraction at this site commenced in the early 40's. A full range of products are produced including all types of concrete sands, brick laying, plaster, play pit, pave bedding and propagating sands, as well as fill materials including specified products such as PM64 and DS4b. This quarry also supplies glass grade silica sand to Amcor. Rocla's Golden Grove quarry forms part of a large extractive zone which includes Adelaide's brick manufacturers.

• Rowland Flat

  The sand, gravel and clay extraction operation at Rowland Flat is located 65 kms north of Adelaide in the Barossa Valley. This quarry also produces a full range of products and has serviced the Barossa Valley region since the early 1950's when extraction first commenced. As at Rocla's other two SA quarries, although on a smaller scale, this quarry also utilises wet processing facilities to produce its sands as well as dry screened brick laying sands.
