Located 30 kms north west of Parramatta, the medium to fine grade river sand is dredged from the Hawkesbury River and processed through a screening and washing plant. The common presence of moderate amounts of charcoal fragments prevent this sand from being used as a fine aggregate in concrete manufacture, but does not affect it's popular use for agricultural and general construction filling applications.
